JPM AM launches LatAm corporate debt fund

JP Morgan Asset Management has launched a bond fund specializing in Latin American debt.

The JPMorgan Funds – Latin American Bond Fund will be managed by Citywire + rated Scott McKee, Citywire A-rated Eduardo Alhadeff and Julio Callegari, who will oversee the fund from Sao Paulo.

New York-based McKee has managed the JPM Emerging Markets Corporate Bond fund since September 2012 with Pierre-Yves Bareau. London-based Alhadeff joined the managers on the fund in December 2013.

A spokesperson for the asset manager confirmed the new fund was launched on July 10. The fund will invest mainly in Latin American corporate debt securities dominated in US dollars and is domiciled in Luxembourg.

The launch follows the news that JP Morgan has hired two private credit investors to head up a special situations unit.
