Independent multi-family office Quilvest Wealth Management has hired an advisor in Chile as it works to expand in that country.
Cristian Ramírez Landaeta, who has more than 14 years of experience in the financial industry, has joined Quilvest’s Santiago office, according to a statement from the firm.
In his previous role at RQ Grupo Hotelero, Ramírez advised the Quezada Family, who are well-known in Chile, on the international expansion of their hotel group and on setting up a family office.
Previously, he hasd also been a managing partner at AltFunds, a Chilean distribution firm founded in 2015, and chief investment officer for local family office Inversiones Benjamin. Between 2004 and 2007, he served as head of equity research at Chilean financial powerhouse LarrainVial.
Opened in 2015, Quilvest's Chile office offers wealth management and private equity services, according to the statement.
Its two local leaders are Javier Mendicute and Andrea Cuomo, two former Credit Suisse advisors who Quilvest poached in 2015 as it sought to grow its Latin American presence.
With more than $36 billion in assets under management, the firm boasts seven offices across Europe, Asia and Latin America, including a location in Montevideo.
Using an open architecture approach, Quilvest focuses on services such as wealth management, family office structuring and banking, according to the statement.
