LarrainVial Asset Management’s head of balanced funds has left the firm after more than five years in his role.
Former Citywire Americas cover star Sebastián Rodas (pictured below left) departed from LarrainVial, where he spent roughly nine years and occupied a series of roles, at the end of August.
The former fund selector used to lead the team in charge of creating investment products using third-party fund manager analysis and providing investment advisory services through a multi-asset approach. It's not yet clear whether Rodas has joined another firm.
LarrainVial's balanced funds team makes up the firm's asset allocation division along with the separately managed accounts and international equities units, a recent addition to the division.
With the restructure, the firm aimed to bolster its products and investment process, a spokesperson told Citywire Americas in early September.
The change happened as former head of international equities Miguel Ángel Suárez (pictured above right), also a former Citywire cover star, took a senior advisory role within the firm's wealth management unit.
Investment director José Manuel Silva and former FX and rates head Patricio Muñoz, led the six-strong asset allocation division. Javier Marshall took over as head of FX and rates from Muñoz, who in turn absorbed Rodas' and Suarez's responsibilities.
LarrainVial has a presence in Chile, Peru, Colombia and the US, according to its website. Its asset management arm runs $4.8 billion in assets, while its wealth management business handles $6.5 billion for 32,000 clients.
