T. Rowe Price has named Robert Sharps, currently co-head of global equity and group chief investment officer, as head of investments.
Sharps will continue as group CIO for the firm, but step back from being co-head of global equity alongside Chris Alderson, who is also head of international equity.
Eric Veiel, who is head of US equity, has been named co-head of global equity, and will work with Alderson, who continues in the role.
Commenting on the change, T. Rowe president and chief executive William J. Stromberg said: 'This expanded role for Rob is well-deserved and recognizes his strong leadership over the past year as co-head of global equity and group CIO, as well as his many prior years as one of our top investors.
Sharps' promotion follows a series of appointments T. Rowe made last year within its senior investment team ahead of the retirement of former CIO Brian Rogers.
