A Sura Chile investment director has left the firm to join LarrainVial Asset Management as a commercial director.
Juan Pablo Valdes left Sura Asset Management, where he led a wealth management team catering to thousands of high net worth clients with close to $2 billion in assets, in June.
The firm passed on his responsibilities to Pablo Urzúa, an assistant wealth management director, a spokesperson for the firm said.
Valdes joined LarrainVial Asset Management in Chile on July 25.
He's in charge of distributing the firm's mutual and investment funds to retail clients through channels such as the company's wealth management unit, a spokesperson for LarrainVial said.
Before his roles at LarrainVial and Sura, Valdes worked at BTG Pactual and its predecessor, Celfin Capital, as the head of private clients.
At LarrainVial, Valdes replaced Gonzalo Rodríguez, who was named LarrainVial Asset Management's chief operations officer on July 28, according to Chile's market regulator. Rodríguez, in turn, replaced former operations head Jaime Oliveira, who moved to a role in LarrainVial Asset Management in Europe.
