An investment advisor at multi-family office Avante Financial Group is set to leave after two years with the firm.
Bogotá-based Sebastián Silva (pictured below) will exit Avante, a firm with offices in Colombia and Chile, effective December 31. A person familiar with the departure said he’s leaving for personal reasons and is not planning to join another firm.
Avante is working to fill his role, said Camilo Silva, the firm’s operations manager and alternative investments analyst.
At Avante, Sebastián Silva, alongside providing clients with investment advice, worked on finding and selecting international investment opportunities through vehicles such as Ucits compliant mutual funds.
He also tracked portfolios and weighed in on when the firm should drop its investment in a mutual fund or ETF.
Before joining Avante, Sebastián Silva spent two years at Colombian asset manager Fiduciaria Davivienda, where he modeled investment risks and tracked portfolio returns, among other responsibilities.
Founded in early 2008 to offer investment advice on international markets, Avante targets high net worth clients and institutions in Latin America, according to its website.
In its institutional segment, Avante offers custody services, access to investment platforms and advice on structuring investment funds abroad. Avante also has a dedicated projects department that focuses on finding investments in real assets.
