Jefferies has hired a Wells Fargo advisor team running $1.5 billion in Latin American client assets to join its growing wealth management unit.
The new recruits include Marcelo Poliak, Pablo Gherardi and Guillermo Guerra, who have all been with Wells Fargo for over a decade, as well Nicholas Coubrough, who's been with the wirehouse since 2015.
The team will work alongside Jefferies' Miami-based team leader Ernesto de la Fe, who runs the group's international wealth management business for the Americas.
A spokesman from Jefferies confirmed the new hires to Citywire Americas.
De la Fe joined Jefferies from Morgan Stanley in 2015, a group he had been with since 2006 and was responsible for growing its international wealth management business in the Americas and Switzerland.
In May last year, De la Fe recruited another Morgan Stanley advisor, Ariel Rivero, who had worked at the firm between 2013-2015. Rivero had spent the bulk of his career before that at Merrill Lynch from 2000 to 2013, according to Finra's BrokerCheck.
