Miami broker-dealer Insigneo has hired George Arnett III as its general counsel and chief risk, legal & compliance officer.
In a newly created role, Arnett, also known as ‘Tres’, will provide strategic direction to Insigneo using his 25-year background in various legal and regulatory capacities, the firm said in a release.
Prior to joining Insigneo, he was general counsel of COR Clearing, a broker-dealer based in Omaha, Nebraska, a position he took on in 2012.
Arnett also spent over 10 years in senior positions at Pershing and its affiliates Hedgemark International, a managed hedge fund and risk analytics provider, and Hedgemark Securities, a hedge fund distributor.
While with Pershing, Arnett had legal oversight of its trading, prime brokerage, stock loan and global securities services business, including Pershing’s operations in Australia and England.
In addition to his previous roles, Arnett has also served on the US’s Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s Anti-Money Laundering Committee, Prime Brokerage Committee, Clearing Firms Committee, and State Regulation and Legislation Committee, as well as on Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s International Advisory Committee.
He has also been a frequent international speaker for the US Treasury on anti-money laundering.
This is Insigneo’s latest hire as it continues to boost the leadership of the newly-merged firm. Last month the firm hired Dynasty Financial Partner’s Javier Rivero.
