Chilean firm HMC Capital has appointed Nicolás Fonseca as head of distribution for the group.
The move comes as Santiago Arias, who was formerly in a dual role as head of distribution and head of equities for the asset management and distribtion firm, moves to focus on the latter in light of the firm’s recent subadvisory agreement with East Capital.
Fonseca joined HMC Capital as co-head of long-only distribution in March from BTG Pactual in Chile, where he was associate director in equities. He was also previously a portfolio manager at AFP Provida.
HMC Capital, an asset management and advisory firm with offices in Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Peru, has represented managers such as Neuberger Berman, Matthews Asia, Bradesco Asset Management and BlueBay Asset Management.
As of November the firm, had $8 billion in assets under management and distribution.
