Schroder launches high conviction EM equity fund

Schroders has launched the Schroder ISF Emerging Markets Equity Alpha fund, high conviction strategy investing in 40-to-60 emerging market stocks at a time.

The strategy will be managed by Citywire + Robert Davy, a founding member of Schroders Latin American team, and Waj Hashmi.

Davy also runs the Schroder Emerging Markets and Schroder ISF Emerging Markets funds. They will be supported by a team of 45 who together manage $32.7 billion on behalf of clients around the world

Deutsche AM merges ESG bond fund after manager’s exit

Deutsche Asset Management merged its ESG-focused bond strategy into a global fixed income fund following the exit of manager Dirk Aufderheide.

The DWS ESG Global Government Bond fund was rolled into the Deutsche Invest Global Bonds High Conviction fund and Citywire + rated Bernhard Falk will become the sole manager of the strategy.

A spokesperson for Deutsche Asset Management said the high conviction fund will have more potential in the future as the firm continues to convert other bond funds into ESG-focused strategies.

HSBC hires passive fixed income boss

HSBC Global Asset Management hired a new head of passive fixed income as it plans to launch a new Ucits fund range consisting of passive bond products.

For the newly created role, the firm brought on Sebastien Faucher from UK insurance giant Legal & General Investment Management where he was head of fixed income.
