Franklin Templeton has added Sonal Desai as a portfolio manager across three funds, covering global bonds, emerging market debt and high yield.
Desai will also assume a role on the $976 million Templeton Global Balanced fund, alongside Hasenstab and Peter Wilmshurst and the $164 million Templeton Global High Yield fund with Hasenstab, Glenn Voyles and Patricia O’Connor.
Franklin Templeton has closed a bond strategy focused on achieving a real rate of return due to its low level of assets.
The Franklin Real Return fund was liquidated on 12 December 2017, at which point it had $210 million in assets across all share classes, according to the December factsheet.
A spokesperson for the firm said the board of directors decided the size of the fund was too small to keep it open and viable for investors.
Amundi Asset Management's co-head of equities Romain Boscher has stepped down to take the role of global chief investment officer at Fidelity International.
He served head of equities at Amundi for the last seven years and replaces Dominic Rossi at Fidelity, after he left the role in May 2017.
Boscher will report to Fidelity’s global head of asset management, Bart Grenier, who was named in the newly-created role at the start of the year.
Boscher will also be a member of the firm’s global operating committee.
