Alan Beattie, who had multiple roles with HSBC in Latin America, has been appointed by HSBC Private Bank as global head of private wealth solutions, effective January 22.
Beattie will be responsible for managing the private wealth solutions globally and report to Peter Boyles, chief executive of HSBC Private Banking.
Most recently Beattie was working in the venture capital industry in Sydney, Australia but prior to that spent 25 years with HSBC in various senior roles.
His tenure included positions as head of commercial banking for Latin America, Deputy CEO of HSBC Argentina and CEO of HSBC Chile.
‘Alan has served the needs of HSBC clients worldwide for many years, and we welcome his return to HSBC and leadership for the team,’ said Boyles.
Beattie will be based in Hong Kong and his appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
In September, HSBC hired Heather Flanagan as head of private wealth solutions in the US who is responsible for developing the wealth strategy for wealth planning, trust and estate administration for clients booked in the US.
While she reports to the head of the private bank in the US, Joe Abruzzo, a spokesperson confirmed she will work with Beattie to set the framework for private wealth solutions across all of the firm’s private banks.
