Credit Suisse Chile relationship manager and UHNW team leader Daniel Rivas has exited the firm to join rival Julius Baer's Chilean private bank.
Santiago-based Rivas joined Julius Baer in late March as an executive director and senior advisor.
He told Citywire Americas he will continue to manage his UHNW and HNW clients and has been joined by assistant Matias Rodriguez. He also plans on expanding his team at Julius Baer.
Rivas said he decided to leave Credit Suisse on the back of a number of changes at the Swiss bank as it continues its larger strategic plan to cut costs.
'I’ve decided to join Julius Baer for its business model in Chile,' he said.
'We have more access for clients through the firm’s Swiss platform, [their relationship with] Pershing as well as a local bank. We can give clients a more complete and integrated service.’
Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2011, Rivas was a private banker at Santander where he did stints in Miami and Uruguay.
