Ignacio Zapata, partner and regional private wealth management head at Compass Group, is set to leave the firm at the end of the month, Citywire Americas has learned.
He joined Compass in 2008 in the group’s New York office but he is now based in Chile.
A Compass spokeswoman declined to comment on whether the firm had hired a replacement but said Zapata was leaving to pursue a personal project.
A 20-year veteran of the investment industry, Zapata was previously in charge of business development for private banking and brokerage in New York and Santiago for Citibank and for Chilean firm CorpGroup.
One of the largest fund distributors in Latin America, Compass Group has offices in seven countries in the region and in New York, according to its website.
It also offers wealth, asset, and fund management services, managing more than $36 billion in funds and advisory for private and institutional clients.
