As head of emerging markets at Insight Investment, Colm McDonagh manages several funds including the Insight Absolute Emerging Market Debt Fund. Colm uses cash as a tactical element of his strategy for this fund which involves a macro and fundamental investment style and uses derivatives. Prior to joining Insight Investment in 2008 he worked for two years at Hydra Capital Management, and started his career at Aberdeen Asset Management in 2000. He is currently based in London and studied finance and law at University College Dublin.

Objective

The Sub-Fund aims to generate a total return comprised of income and capital growth by investing primarily in corporate debt, and corporate debt-related instruments issued by emerging markets issuers worldwide and in financial derivative instruments relating to such instruments. The Sub-Fund will invest primarily (meaning at least three-quarters of the Sub-Funds total assets) in corporate bonds and credit related instruments issued by corporate issuers, as well as other bonds and bond related investments, which are economically tied or linked to emerging market countries and which are listed or traded on any Eligible Markets.
