Matias joined Black Creek Investment Management in october 2006 as director of global equities. Matias has over 14 years of investment experience and five years in the operational and consulting fields. Prior to Black Creek he was part of the investment management team at Wirth Associates (now Cumberland Associates Investment Counsel Inc.). Matias began his investment career in the venture capital industry, funding companies throughout Latin America and the southern United States when he worked with BancBoston Capital and Softbank Latin America Ventures. As the business unit manager for the consumer products division of America Latina Logistica, Matias built upon his operational experience in the consumer goods and logistic industries, which began at Nestle and Unilever. He also worked at Accenture as a consultant for clients in the automotive, steel and beverage industries. Matias received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and an industrial engineering degree from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology. He is also a CFA charterholder.
Bill Kanko is the founder and president of Black Creek Investment Management which was founded in 2005. He has spent his entire career spanning more than 34 years as an investment analyst and portfolio manager. Prior to Black Creek, Bill was a senior vice president with AIM Trimark and was the lead manager for the Trimark Fund and Trimark Select Growth Fund, with combined assets of more than $13 billion. From 1995 to 1999, Bill managed mutual funds for Mackenzie Financial (Universal Growth Fund and Ivy Foreign Equity Fund). Bill originally joined Trimark in September 1985, leaving as senior vice president in 2004. Prior to Trimark and Mackenzie, he was an investment analyst at Confederation Life Assurance Company from 1981 to 1985. Bill graduated with an Honours B.A. in business administration from the University of Western Ontario in 1981 and was granted the CFA designation in 1984.
Heather Peirce joined Black Creek Investment Management in September 2013 as director of global equities. Heather has over 23 years of experience as an analyst and portfolio manager for global equities. Prior to joining Black Creek Heather was a portfolio manager at Gryphon International. Heather previously held the position of vice president and portfolio manager at Invesco Trimark for over ten years where she was lead manager of various global funds including the Global Health Sciences Fund and co-manager of the Trimark Fund. Prior to joining Invesco Trimark, Heather was Vice President and portfolio manager of global equities at RBC Asset Management. Heather holds a BA in economics and management studies from the University of Waterloo.
This fund’s objective is to generate long-term growth of capital by investing, directly or indirectly, in equity or equity-related securities of companies located anywhere in the world. Indirect investments may include convertible securities, derivatives, and securities of other mutual funds. The fund currently achieves its investment objective by investing all of its assets in Black Creek Global Leaders Fund (the underlying fund), which has the same portfolio advisor and objectives as the fund.
